Moog’s Space & Defense Group - Salt Lake City Operations is a high production facility for missile steering and weaponized turret systems.  This is a rapidly growing business with significant opportunities for professional development.  

We are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join them. You will report to the Materials & Supply Chain Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah.  You will interface with Program Management, Quality, and Product Engineering regarding supplier manufacturing and quality issues to provide guidance to our team and partners. In addition to providing production support, this role you will support material estimating and design to cost (DTC) savings projects for development programs.

 

Here's what you'll be working on day to day:

·       Lead supplier risk management activities, supporting quality first initiatives

·       Lead/Influence supplier selection

·       Read, evaluate, and interpret drawings for machined and/or electronic components in order to provide technical support

·       Travel (30-50%) to suppliers’ facilities to evaluate their capabilities, provide support and create partnerships

Here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:

·       Technical degree in manufacturing, engineering, or equivalent and/or relevant experience

·       5 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of manufacturing, engineering, and/or quality or supply chain

·       Demonstrated ability to lead change through influence

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       Expertise in risk management, quality, and supplier development

·       Ability to access US export-controlled information

It would be great if you also had:

·       Electronics, motor, and/or other complex manufacturing experience

·       Root cause investigation and corrective action implementation experience

·       FMEA/PFMEA or other risk analysis methods

·       Quality Assurance, auditing, and compliance

·       Project management 

·       Leadership

·       Negotiation

·       Estimating skills

·       Black/Green Belt or Lean/Six Sigma certification

·       Trade/export and TINA/DPAS/FAR regulations

The base pay range for this opportunity in UT is $73,000 - $119,000 annually.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual profit-sharing bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
