What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Interact daily with employees, supervisors, and management on HR-related matters.
  • Understand, explain, and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for following all company HR processes.
  • Responsible for new hire orientation, and all administrative functions associated with onboarding a new employee.
  • Assist with open enrollment and other benefit related tasks.
  • Participate in corporate HR conference calls, training initiatives, and collaborate with HR colleagues at other site locations.
  • Ensure all company policies, and state and federal laws are followed when terminating an employee.
  • Ensure legal compliance with respect to, but not limited to, EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, and the Department of Labor.
  • Provide required federal and state training for hourly employees, supervisors, and management employees.
  • Facilitator for the company Activities Team.
  • Follow all site and OSHA safety rules while in office areas and on the production floor. Set an example for all employees by adhering to the site Dress Code including wearing all required PPE.
  • Maintain relevant professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned

What we need from you:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in HR related field or comparable experience in Human Resources. HR certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of HR related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must show high regard for ethics and confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office required.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting throughout workday for phone use, considerable computer work, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout workday while on the production floor.
  • Climb stairs to and from office area.

Work Environment:

  • Majority of workday in an office environment with moderate temperature, good lighting, and low to moderate noise level.
  • Partial day on production floor environment with seasonal high and low temperatures, good lighting, and moderate to high noise level
