Senior Field Service Technician

Position Overview

Our Field Service Technicians lead and perform testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in data centers and other field environments. The ideal candidate is a NETA Level II or III.

Responsibilities
    Have a thorough understanding of safe work practices in the electrical industry.
  • Strong theoretical understanding of electric power systems and operation.
  • Be familiar and experienced with the complexities of data center environments.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and perform start-up of low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 15kV.
  • Test low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, MV cable, switchgear, and motor controllers.
  • Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays and meters.
  • Utilize and accurately read meters and test equipment.
  • Must have a strong proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Accurately prepare test reports with details of tests, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Power DB experience is a plus.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable with the use of hand tools.
  • Have a strong work ethic and be able to independently resolve project issues if needed.
  • Safely lead projects of up to 8 Qualus personnel.
  • Must be experienced with most major test equipment software.
  • Be available to work overtime, flexible hours, and occasionally nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications
  • 6 years related experience in data centers, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes.
  • Licensures and Certifications: NETA certification preferred or necessary experience to become NETA certified within 6 months.
  • Education: 2-year technical school graduate, BSEE, Navy Nuclear Power or Army Prime Power experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerDB
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
