About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Commercial Relationship Manager/Branch Manager III for our Orem branch.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and mentor direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, and policies. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
  • Originate new loan commitments each year in accordance with the Bank's incentive compensation plan.
  • Generate and manage a loan portfolio of $35 million or higher with the overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality and generating fee income.
  • Meets regularly with staff both formally and informally to foster an atmosphere of professionalism, trust, teamwork, and caring.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with management partners to coordinate ongoing branch/department activities and goals. Discusses areas needing improvement and coordination of efforts.
  • Continually seeks ways to improve branch/department functions and productivity and to meet established goals. Takes appropriate steps to correct unsatisfactory conditions. Closely monitors and improves risk controls of the Bank.
  • Represents the branch/department in its relationships with customers and business, community, and civic organizations, as well as suppliers, other financial institutions, and other similar groups.
  • In coordination with the management partners, develops and manages to a yearly budget.
  • In partnership with additional management, monitors all branch/department activities to ensure they are in compliance with established bank policies and procedures.
  • Stays current on all bank policies and procedures, processes, products and services by participating in various learning activities, i.e., assigned training, management communications, etc.
  • Maintains communications with executive/senior management; prepares and submits standard reports as requested; attends scheduled management meetings.
  • Interviews loan applicants to develop information concerning their loan needs, earnings, and financial condition.
  • Calls on new and existing customers to expand business relationships with an emphasis on attracting new and additional loans, deposits, and other Bank products.
  • Manages a diversified loan portfolio i.e. ensures compliance with the terms and conditions of the loan agreement, collects on delinquent loans, and completes other monitoring reports in a timely manner. Monitors existing loan and deposit portfolios to maintain a high quality asset base with accurate loan grading.
  • Responds in a timely manner to internal audit and other management reporting requests.
  • Analyzes current financial position of customers and other pertinent data, to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit. Makes decision to approve, decline, or forward the loan to higher levels for decision.
  • Effectively work with a team to prepare and present loans for approval.
  • Recommends the terms, conditions, and structure of the loan. Reviews all loan documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, and clearly reviews the terms and conditions of the loan with the customer. Authorizes release of collateral on existing loans, changes in loan terms, waivers of payments, due date change, etc. within their authorization limits.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
  • A college degree or equivalent combination of deucation and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Leadership and Management experience focusing on culture and accountability.
  • High degree of attention to detail as well as organizational skill(s) to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Bank products, lending law, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and underwriting skills.
  • Clear understanding of business entity structures.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Work may involve motivating (changing behavior), influencing, or training others.
  • External contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and sell ideas or services to others.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.

Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
