Position Summary:

Direct Supply is building the future of healthcare technology with industry-leading products, solutions and platforms to help improve the lives of millions of seniors and those who care for them.

In the Architectural Intern position, you'll support our team of Architects, Interior Designers and Foodservice Designers in all stages of building design. Your primary focus will be the production of construction drawings from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation.

This position works within our Aptura business.

Competencies & Skills Needed:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to make quick, smart decisions with limited information.

  • Able to learn quickly and flex across a diverse range of tasks.

  • Proven ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately in both Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand architectural documentation.

  • Excellent multi-tasking ability, highly organized with great attention to detail.

  • Intermediate experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work full-time (32-40 hours) during the summer break, late May to end of August.

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Collaborate with project designers and other team members with project work.

  • Complete technical drawing set ups for production of schematic, design development and construction document sets, including management of views, graphics, and sheet layouts.

  • Draw, update, revise, and annotate flooring, reflected ceiling, equipment, furniture, and finish plans under the direction of the Project Designer(s). Work from markups, schedules, concept imagery and verbal instructions from designers.

  • Download, file, and update base models, plans and drawings.

  • Manage and update referenced external files, run plan or model comparisons. Keep internal team members informed of updates.

  • Assist with the production of budgets and schedules using native software tools, annotative tagging and linked or imported excel documents.

  • Develop meaningful and effective working relationships.

  • Contribute to a strong and positive work environment.

  • Openly and effectively collaborate with Project Architects, Architectural Designers, Interior Designers, Foodservice Designers, and Project Managers within a professional studio environment.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.

Experience:

  • Enrollment in Junior or Senior Year of an Architecture, Architectural Studies, Interior Architecture bachelor's program.

  • A portfolio of school work samples is required to be considered for this position.
