What does a Tax Manager do at Swire Coca-Cola?

The Indirect Tax Manager is a valuable contributor to Swire Coca-Cola and the Finance team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Tax, this role supports and enables success against the company's goals through strategically managing risk and ensuring compliance. We are seeking a strong business partner and consultant to the business, in addition to leading and developing a team.

Responsibilities:

• Review and prepare sales tax returns for various states and locations while ensuring compliance with state and local statutes
• Review invoices to determine the appropriate use tax while ensuring compliance with state and local statues
• Manage relationship with external finance service partner related to Exemption Certificates, Unclaimed Property, and Business Licensure
• Research state statutes and attend trainings to stay current with changes
• Manage team of Indirect tax accountants prioritizing performance and individual development
• Act as delegate for Sr. Tax leader representing team in cross-functional initiatives
• Work effectively with various Tax and Finance leaders cross-functionally on projects and initiatives
• Foster a culture of collaboration and business partnership across all business functions
• Actively participate in business and technology initiatives and asses potential tax impacts
• Demonstrated ability to positively influence others in Finance and cross-functionally
• Act and manage sensitive information in a confidential and discrete manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• CPA preferred
• 8+ years of direct experience in preparing or auditing sales and use tax required
• 2+ years directly leading a team in Tax or Finance
• Demonstrated experience in preparing sales and use tax returns
• Strong skills in researching state and local statutes
• Strong preference toward direct software experience with Vertex, Avalara, Alteryx, and SAP
• Travel up to 10%
