SummaryProvides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment. Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization's computer users about basic and specialized applications.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with a ticket queue to process, monitor and prioritize trouble tickets and perform first contact as well as ticket resolution within SLA
  • Ability to manage time well and maintain a high standard of work
  • Remain current with technology and industry/market trends
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver detailed technical documentation and manage tasks.
  • Regular collaboration and communication with teams and end-users
  • Implement and maintain OS levels, patching processes, software standards, deployment strategies and tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues including environmental, hardware, firmware, and software
  • Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support of end user workstations and other supported systems
  • Ability to translate requirements and provide details to higher level engineers and management
  • Proactively suggest enhancements to existing configurations, technologies or procedures.
  • Automate any and all tasks that can be automated.
  • Provide critical thinking to complex problems in a 24/7, mission critical mixed Windows/Linux
  • environment

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Typical Education and Experience

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • 2 - 3 years of related experience
