Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Project Accountant 2, we'll count on you to:

  • Work autonomously on client invoicing, collections management and project budgeting
  • Monitor accounts payable email box, code and process overhead accounts payable and all subconsultant invoices for your assigned projects. This includes maintaining purchase orders, entering and monitoring work confirmations, coding and submitting invoices to corporate accounts payable, and releasing payment to subconsultants.
  • Meet monthly accounting goals and invoicing deadlines.
  • Accurate Project Setup including fee and budget entry, billing setup form, contract documentation, administration and maintenance, including fee and budget reforecasts
  • Provide timely contract performance data to Project Manager and project reviewers. Resolve financial issues with project manager.
  • Use the project accounting and project management tools to monitor and report on your assigned projects
  • Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis.
  • Accurately enter labor adjustments and other direct cost transfers.
  • Assist project managers with use of forecasting software and other project management tools. If necessary, work with PMs to update Forecasts.
  • Attend project meetings including 0% reviews, Project reviews, and adhoc project discussions. Share financial position information at the reviews.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
