Overview

The Sr R&D Strategy Leader plays a pivotal role in shaping our Oncology MRD strategy and partnerships. This role drives clinical excellence and influences industry standards through impactful leadership, collaboration, evidence development, and expertise in MRD detection methodologies.

An essential aspect of this role will be spearheading Myriad Genetics' clinical trial partnerships focused on Oncology MRD. They will be a key opinion leader (KOL) in the oncology space and will be instrumental in seeking out partnership opportunities, building collaborative relationships, and developing and negotiating study agreements. The Sr R&D Strategy Leader provides expert insight on the study designs of clinical trials aimed at evaluating novel diagnostic technologies, biomarkers, and treatment modalities for MRD detection and monitoring.

Responsibility

  1. Provide strategic leadership and guidance on Oncology MRD initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
    1. Develop and implement an integrated KOL engagement strategy to foster partnerships and collaborations, and drive thought leadership in the field.
    2. Seek out study partnership opportunities and drive agreements through the execution stage.
  2. Collaborate on the evidence needs and study concepts focused on Oncology MRD.
    1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D product directors/managers, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and research scientists, to ensure successful trial execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Serve as a subject matter expert on MRD detection methodologies, biomarker development, and treatment response assessment in Oncology.
    1. Engage with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and clinical research organizations to establish collaborative partnerships and advance scientific knowledge in the field.
  4. Assist in the interpretation of clinical trial data to generate insights into MRD detection technologies and their clinical utility in guiding treatment decisions and patient management.
  5. Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of research findings through scientific publications, presentations at conferences, participation in advisory boards, and coordination with the commercial team.

Qualifications

  1. Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) in Oncology, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in clinical research, with a focus on Oncology and/or Minimal Residue Disease.
  3. Proven track record of leadership and expertise in designing and managing clinical trials, preferably in the context of diagnostic development or precision medicine.
  4. Deep network of and excellent relationships with KOLs at premier institutions conducting oncology clinical research.
  5. Strong knowledge of MRD detection technologies, biomarkers, and treatment response assessment methods in Oncology.
  6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders and regulatory authorities.
  7. Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific findings and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  8. Experience working in a regulated environment, with knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to clinical research.

Physical Requirements

Lifting Requirements - light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
