Job Description

MRM is seeking a Privacy Program Manager, Global Marketing Operations to join the team! We are looking for a proactive solution seeker. Remover of roadblocks and empowers the team to produce their best work. As a Privacy Program Manager, this person collaborates with the Global Marketing Privacy Expert, Privacy/Legal Counsel, and other teams in the Privacy Centre of Excellence (PCOE), to manage various types of privacy cases, incidents, and requests related to Marketing Privacy needs of the CMO Marketing Organization from initial identification through completion of remediation tasks. This person will work on various privacy cases as the first POC on Privacy queues, Events and Marketing Privacy Assessments, and privacy cases for Marketing teams that are related to vendor engagement, data transfer, registration process, data exchange protocols (data collection and lead generation primarily for Marketing teams across various Marketing technology platforms). This person will also be responsible for managing the internal Marketing Privacy SharePoint site, managing the privacy-related documents, regular updates of the documentation, and conducting or assisting in doing relevant trainings to the regional privacy leads/ambassadors across the CMO Marketing Organization in collaboration with Privacy Expert and PCOE's guidance.

Key Accountabilities:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Primary first POC for Privacy Queues (Marketing and PCOE), Events and Marketing Assessments
  • Ability to guide the requestors on various issues related to email marketing, registration, data collection, data exchange, and third-party events' terms and conditions and provide the solution for their cases with the help of Global Marketing Privacy Expert and PCOE
  • Manages the centralized Marketing Privacy SharePoint site that caters to the latest Privacy guidance on various topics and has various playbooks related to step-by-step guidance for Marketing stakeholders.
  • Has excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills (oral and written) to provide the prescribed guidance and options to the requestors explicitly and clearly gives reasons for why we approve or cannot approve any privacy-related requests.
  • Ability to make a distinction between where Marketing Privacy's role ends and where we need to involve the appropriate parties such as Privacy/legal Counsel, Legal Contract Negotiator, Country Lawyers etc. to solve the problem or address the request raised by anyone within Marketing.
  • Directly replies or coordinates with other partners to get appropriate guidance to the requestor and finally helps in solving the problem at hand.
  • Documents any new cases that have been raised and addressed so that the learning can easily be applied to such future cases and the answer is already available and can be made available. Continue to add such scenarios and cases into FAQs, or other appropriate repositories for self-service and help in future trainings.
  • Creates and maintains published guidance like playbooks, document scenarios in detail with explanations that can easily be used for training to the regional leads or anyone playing the Privacy Ambassador role.
  • Is well versed with Marketing lingo and the nature of the business to converse with the requestor in the Marketing language to understand the scenario - should include Events management area as well. The requestors should not feel like they are talking to a lawyer and cannot understand the language spoken by the Privacy Program Manager.
  • Must be able to work with the technical team or technical folks to understand the data flow and see the areas of issues where Privacy gaps may occur and work towards remediating those gaps.
  • Identifies and investigates privacy incidents that violate Cisco's policies and specific country requirements.
  • Liaise with Regional Privacy Officers on new Country Law requirements and assist the Privacy Expert in coordinating the deployment of new country law changes across Marketing systems and data collection platforms.
  • Can work with the IT team or other platform technical team to investigate independently, review the details, and furnish them to the Data Incident Investigators and PCOE Counsel to provide any answers.
  • Understand the aspects of web or cookie-based privacy policies and help implement approved change requirements.
  • Must independently be able to manage priorities and work accordingly.
  • Must be able to work in the US time-zone at least the EST coverage

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a business background esp. Marketing and understanding of data flow and databases.
  • At least 2+ years' experience in Marketing area getting an understanding of marketing campaigns including registration, data collection, email marketing, and events processes.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in project management, privacy operations, client engagement, documentation, and education/training skills
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Projects, SharePoint, JIRA
  • Demonstrated ability to pick up any new tool to manage privacy cases, test registration forms, and data flows.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of Privacy laws esp. GDPR EU Privacy laws, CANSPAM Law, CASL for Canada etc.
  • Desirable - knowledge of SQL queries for checking permissions and status of contacts for various cases.
  • Prefer candidates with good communication, presentation, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Prefer candidates with Privacy related certificates e.g., CIPP
